Hello darlings,
Happy Easter celebration to you all, don't forget the reason for the celebration!

Its all about the famous pompadour, which is now the newest trend in the men's hairstyle album, celebrities, students and hipsters are all rocking this style in different shades, now you ask me what really is the pompadour hairstyle all about?

What is the Pompadour?

This is a haircut/style that is named after 'Madame de Pompadour (1721-1764) mistress to King Louis XV, the concept of this style is hair swept upwards from the face & styled high over the forehead and sometimes side ways. The style was really for the women until the 1890-1950 when the popular rockabilly association adapted the style, talking about the likes of Elvis Presley & Actors like James Dean and Desi Arnaz, then the Italian Americans has tapped into this style, even the 40th President of the United States Ronald Reagan was sported wearing a pompadour...Smiles

In 2015, Pompadour was a big hit and today, this hairstyle is now worn by various people around the world including celebrities like, Conan O' Brien, David Beckham, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Zac Efron & Justin Timberlake just to mention a few.

Award winning hairstylist "Anthony Nadar" of RAW has some quiff  'I'm a big fan of the modern pompadour especially if the quiff has the appearance of a more real look, rather than looking like your one of ken & barbies"

How to DIY the Pompadour style

  • Start with a good cut that is shorter on the sides & long on top, the ratio is a matter of preference, so you can either base it on radical or conservative style
  • Stock up on supplies like pomade, wax or cream, blow dryer, brush & finishing/setting spray to keep the hair in place, shiny & to lock in the style in its proper shape
  • Towel dry hair after washing, then using blow dryer and your hair brush dry hair on top & work towards the back to give it height
  • Work the styling product of choice through hair & distribute properly
  • Set hair with a light coating of hair spray & you should be good to slay!
The result of a Pompadour style is look that is "vintage but not dated, classic but also edgy"
