ESSENTIAL TOOLS NEEDED IN A NATURALISTS STARTER PACK

Hey beautiful people, how have you all been?
I just want to quickly chip this in for those who have been asking me the question of what products they need to transition from  relaxed to natural.

Most essential products are:
  • Sulfate-free Shampoo & Conditioner: this is so your hair strands is not stripped off its moisture during your washing, i am currently loving the Cantu nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner which can be gotten from a natural hair retail store near you or you can order via bravechic38@gmail.com. Note- application should be from roots to ends.
  • Wide-tooth comb: If you must use this, its advisable you get a wide-tooth comb when detangling your hair, though i prefer my fingers.
  • Deep Conditioner: I personally use different DIY home-made deep conditioner for my hair & so far Avocado+banana+olive oil stands out for me, you can read through older posts for DIY deep conditioners you can experiment to know what your loves. You can also apply products with moisture/protein based. Note; when you do a DC, u should cover with a plastic bag & let sit for 45 minutes to an hour for great result.
  • Leave-in Conditioner: You will need this to keep your hair soft & manageable everyday, some products i will recommend are Beautiful textures tangle taming leave-in, Cantu Shea butter leave-in & Giovanni direct leave-in conditioners. Note;this is not a rinse out conditioner, it should be applied daily either to your FRO, Twists, Braids etc.
  • Satin bonnets/scarfs: this is to help protect your hair from damage, breakage, tangles & helps moisture stay in.
  • Gels:This will help tame your edges when wearing different hairstyles, you can either use Eco styler olive-oil gel, Lotta body shape me custard gelee', Cantu twist & lock gel, Olive oil smooth n hold pudding, Kinky curly styling custard etc.
  • Essential oils, carrier oils: this is vital in every natural hair journey, some recommendations are Avocado oil, Jojoba oil, Almond oil, Lavender & tea-tree oil, Coconut oil, Olive oil etc. Note that you dont have to have them all, simply experiment till you find what works best for you & you can also mix all in your spritz bottle as your daily moisturizer, also as hot-oil treatment.
  • Hair clips/pins: You will need this to help with sectioning of your hair, so get good ones & endeavour to keep them clean.
Now that you all know your basic needs, how are you going to be rocking your hair for thanksgiving if you are out of Nigeria? Share your hair tips with us using the comment box below.
