DIY LEMON JUICE FOR HAIR GROWTH

Beautiful weekend to you all. I have shared several home remedies for hair growth in my previous articles, today I will be sharing another with the use of Lemon juice so stay with me.

What impedes Natural hair growth?
Dandruff and hair fall are a major problem for thinning, unhealthy lifestyle, lack of sleep, illness, chemical styling products, excessive use of shampoos, hair dryers & certain medications are a common factor that affects hair growth and causes hair fall.

We have been exposed to several chemical products that promises dandruff free & longer hair growth, due to its chemical properties these products strips us off our natural hair oil & moisture leaving our hair dry, brittle & full of frizz, hence, its best to stick to natural remedies as they are safer and economical for every growth.


Why Lemon juice?
Lemon is known to be filled with several nutrients such as Vitamin C, Magnesium, Calcium and flavor which makes it great for healthy hair, skin and body.

Benefits:
  1. Richest source of Vitamin C which helps make hair stronger & longer
  2. It stimulates hair growth & strengthens hair follicles
  3. A compound found in lemon, called Lemonene adds shine to dull, dry & frizzy hair
  4. Due to its anti fungal properties, lemon combats with dandruff and also provides relief from other scalp infections
  5. Refreshing smell of lemon leaves hair feeling fresh & fine.

DIY LEMON FOR HAIR GROWTH

Lemon Juice for therapy:
  • Cut fresh lemon into two
  • Squeeze out juice directly on scalp & hair
  • Massage for 5 to 10 minutes
  • Wash out with mild shampoo
  • Repeat process once a week for effective result
The above therapy helps combat dandruff and encourages hair growth.

Lemon oil, Castor oil and Olive oil:
  • 1 tsp of lukewarm olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp warm castor oil
  • 3 drops of lemon oil
  • Apply mixture to scalp and hair
  • Massage for 5 to 10 minutes
  • Let sit overnight
  • In the morning, apply the Lemon juice therapy above to remove excess oil
  • Wash hair with mild shampoo
  • Repeat remedy once a week. 
Above therapy/mixture is good for fast hair growth, olive oil in it nourishes hair from root to shaft while the castor oil helps develop longer, thicker & stronger hair.

Lemon oil, Coconut oil & Camphor oil:
  • 2 tsp warm coconut oil
  • 2 drops of lemon & camphor oil
  • Massage scalp with mixture for 5 to 10 minutes, cover with a plastic cap
  • Let sit overnight
  • In the morning, wrap hair with warm towel for 10 minutes
  • Unwrap and wash hair with mild shampoo.
This mixture with camphor provides relief for itchy scalp, hence clears dandruff.

Lemon and Aloe vera:
  • 2 tsp of Aloe vera gel
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Apply mixture to scalp and hair
  • Massage for 5 minutes
  • Let sit for 20 to 30 minutes
  • Wash off and style as usual.
 Moisturizing properties in Aloe vera cleans the scalp, locks in natural hair moisture & accelerates hair growth.

Lemon, Olive oil and Egg:
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Half lemon
  • Apply mixture to scalp & hair
  • Let mixture dry off before washing with clean water
  • Repeat remedy once a week
The above hair mask works to make hair thicker & stronger.

Lemon, Curry leaves & Coconut oil:
  • 2 handful of fresh curry leaves
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • Half lemon
  • Blend well until smooth
  • Apply paste on scalp & hair
  • Let sit for 15 to 20 minutes
  • Rinse out with clean water.
This mixture leaves the scalp clean, moisturizes the scalp & speeds up hair growth. Curry leaves are great remedy for gorgeous thick hair.

NB:
  • Always choose freshly squeezed lemon juice over bottled versions for the above remedies to reap full benefits of Lemon.
  • Avoid applying lemon to wounds or cuts to prevent irritation
  • Excessive use of lemon on hair can actually leave your hair follicles brittle so follow all procedures with precaution.
